I just ran across a Celestron C8 Orange tube with all the original components as well as a couple extras in mint condition. I bought it on the spot as I haven’t seen one this clean and organized in awhile. I bought if from a younger fella who said he got it when his uncle passed on(uncle was the original owner). The serial number is 289097. The best I can figure from what I researched is this scope was made around 1975/76. Hoping maybe someone here may know a little more; appreciate any comments or suggestions. I took it out already and am just amazed at how nice this scope operates. Clear sharp images, buttery smooth focuser; minimal vibration with the original “locked triangle” tripod. Absolutely pleased with this purchase.![Serial Serial](/uploads/1/1/3/7/113787065/379136151.jpg)

Celestron Super C8 Plus Manual
This is a 1970's-era Celestron C8 with sandcast fork mount in very good condition, serial number 314383. It tracks perfectly and has clean optics that offer sharp views with no signs of fungus or discoloration on the corrector, primary mirror or secondary mirror. Slow motion controls are smooth. Celestron offered what was basically the C8/5 tripod and wedge for that purpose, and that did indeed make for a very stable platform for Little Kitty. Unfortunately, adding those items jacked the already surprisingly high price up to a cool seven-hundred and ninety-five simoleons, equivalent to at least two-thousand 2010 dollars, depending on.
